The letter "A"

We've started working on learning the letter "A". Since Caleb went back to school today, I'm taking the opportunity for Rory to start learning things as well. I want her to start learning how to write her alphabet and to be able to recognize them by sight.

I started by drawing large "A"s onto a piece of paper with black marker. I then give them to Rory, tell her what letter it is, and help her trace the letters. Then I let her do it herself. We've done it three times now and I'm seeing some improvement :)

I also wanted to show off the crafts we started doing. The first one we did was an Apple Tree. The kids really had fun painting the tree trunk and top and then gluing on the pom-pom "apples".

(Rory's is on the left, Caleb's is on the right)

Then we also did an activity with the letter "A". We made alligators! They turned out really cute. I drew a large "A" on some construction paper, let the kids color them, then cut them out. We then added teeth and googly eyes. They had fun!

(Caleb's is on top, Rory's on bottom)

I plan on doing another "A" craft but I need to go to the store to get some more supplies. Off we go!

**Most of the ideas I use I find on "No Time For Flashcards" or "Homeschool Creations"
