Daisy


You will need:
  • 3 colors paper (one being green)
  • styrofoam ball, cut in half
  • 1 green pipe cleaner
  • glue
  • scissors
  • paint color of choice
  1. Cut ball in half. Let child paint it. Let dry.
  2. Meanwhile, cut petals out of one color paper.
  3. Cut the pipe cleaner in half. One half will be stem. With the other half make two leaves. (see top picture)
  4. With green paper, cut a small strip for grass. Make small vertical cuts to make it more like grass. (also see top picture)
  5. Glue or tape green stem and leaves to the background paper ( I used double sided tape)
  6. Glue down the flower petals in a circle at the top of the stem. Glue the styrofoam ball in the center of the petals.
  7. Finally, glue down strip of grass. Let everything dry.

Cupcake with Sprinkles

You will need:
  • 3 colors paper (one light colored)
  • markers
  • glue and glue stick
  • scissors
  • beads or something for "sprinkles"
  • red pom pom (not pictured)
  1. Draw a cupcake paper on one color paper. Draw a cupcake top on light colored paper.
  2. Have child color the top and the bottom.
  3. Cut out top and bottom.
  4. Glue top and bottom to background paper.
  5. Spread glue from glue stick on top of cupcake.
  6. Sprinkle beads onto the top. Make sure they stick!
  7. Add the pom pom to the top for the cherry.

Cupcakes


You will need:
  • cake mix of choice
  • icing
  • cupcake cups
  • muffin tins
  1. Start by mixing cake mix according to directions. We substituted apple sauce for the oil.
  2. Place cupcake liners in the tin.
  3. Fill liners 2/3 full.
  4. Bake according to directions. Let cool.
  5. Frost them! (forgot to take a picture of this part...)

    Crabby the Crab

    You will need:
    • a paper plate
    • 2 small pieces of light colored paper
    • scissors
    • red paint
    • googly eyes
    • glue
    1. Have child paint plate and paper with red paint (try to have them cover the whole thing in red). Let dry.
    2. Cut plate in half. From one half, cut two claws. From one piece of paper, cut two small strips. From other piece, cut two larger strips for arms.
    3. Fan fold the arms.
    4. Turn over half plate. Glue small strips of paper to top of plate.
    5. Turn plate over and glue googly eyes to ends of paper.
    6. Glue "arms" to sides of the plate. Then glue claws to the ends of the arms. Let dry.
    Rory said he has "pinchers". She likes Mr. Crabby :)

    "C" is for Caterpillar


    You will need:
    • 2 different colors of paper
    • paint/markers
    • glue
    • pom-poms
    • pipe cleaner
    • googly eyes
    • scissors
    1. Draw a large "C" on one color paper. Let child color or paint. ( She did really good "tracing" the "C").
    2. Cut out "C". Poke two small holes in top of "C" for antennae. Thread through. Glue onto background paper.
    3. Dot glue onto "C". Let child place pom-poms of choice onto the glue. Make two smaller dots of glue for eyes. Glue on eyes. (what a stinker face!!)

    Cactus


    You will need:
    • white paper
    • yellow paper or foam sheet
    • background paper
    • green paint
    • scissors
    • glue/glue stick
    • sand
    1. Draw a cactus on the white paper. Cut out sun pieces.
    2. Let child fingerpaint cactus. Let dry.
    3. Cut out cactus. Let child glue to paper.
    4. Glue sun onto paper.
    5. Have child use glue stick to put glue all around the bottom of the paper. Sprinkle sand onto glued area. Shake to remove excess sand. Let dry.


    And then let them play with the sand :)

    Boats


    You will need:
    • brown or white paper
    • 2 different colors of blue paper
    • glue
    • background paper
    • scissors
    • popsicle stick
    • paint or markers (if white paper is used)
    1. Draw a boat on white or brown paper. Let child paint boat brown if white paper is used.
    2. Draw a sail on one color of blue paper, and waves on the other color. Cut all out.
    3. Let child help glue boat onto background paper. Glue on stick. Attach sail and waves.
